I wasn't talking syntax, I was talking about machines doing
the dull, tedious, and _very_ machanical aspects of all this.

Yes, *a user* doing what aught be the domain of *a machine*.
And if the list processor did get smart, how would whatever
smartness is did interact with that of a user that had a
setup which handled the mechanical details realated to the
_semmantics_ of all this. There's more to life than syntax!
Not that I expect it to ever get done well, but I can
raise the issues and have that small bit of hope that
it will mean something, to someone, somewhere...

Cosidering that it requires manual intervention by each
indivdual user to set up and test "the solution", I can
see how it all slipped back under the radar. Oh well.
