I'm not sure if it applies in your case, or to recent versions, but at one
point there was known incompatibility. You couldn't have both:
	FreeS/WAN trying to do IPsec
	those patches, trying tomasquerade IPsec packets
on the same machine.

Also, note that the doc you cite is dated late 2000 and the first 2.4
kernel was released early this year. Last I heard, the patches had
not yet been updated for 2.4, so if you're trying them on 2.4, you
need to check that.
