Greg, this is what you want.  You want linux to use ALL your memory, as much of
it as it can!  Most of that ram in use is being used by old libs, cached info,
stuff that COULD be purged from memory.. but why bother, when something may
need it again?

It saves time to have it handy, and if some application needs space that old
unused data is sitting in, THEN it gets purged.  Why do it before?

Ah, the beauty of linux ;)
