Interesting... LM 8.0 doesn't give me audio.  It recognizes the sound card, 
but there's no sound.  Sound card is an ESS Solo-1.  Works fine on the other 
PC, though.

Do you have the Beta or Release 8.0?  I found that the installer crashed in 
the beta when it couldn't find what it was looking for on the selected 
mirror.  I find the updater/installer much improved over 7.2, and doesn't 
crash on my system in the non-beta version.
