I  believe that the BIOS in the computer loads a disk image into memory. 
This lets the computer boot however Red Hat must be able to run the CD 
ROM drive by it's self to continue. The Red Hat boot image on the CD 
probably does not support your CD ROM drive. You would need to obtain 
the proper modules and load them at the boot prompt say from a floppy.
