[oclug] KDE not cooperating

Hello,

On this MDK7.2 setup, I discoved that the very beta KDE2 was actually
v.1.9.9 or the like. Hence, I rpm -e'd it all away, dl'd all the 2.1
stuff and installed it with rpm -Uvh --nodeps --force *.rpm. The packages
were: kdenetwork-2.1-2mdk.i586.rpm
kdeadmin-2.1-1mdk.i586.rpm kdesupport-2.1-1mdk.i586.rpm
kdebase-2.1-2mdk.i586.rpm kdeutils-2.1-1mdk.i586.rpm
libmng1-1.0.0-1mdk.i586.rpm
kdelibs-2.1-2mdk.i586.rpm mtools-3.9.7-4mdk.i586.rpm
kdelibs-sound-2.1-2mdk.i586.rpm pciutils-2.1.8-5mdk.i586.rpm
kdemultimedia-2.1-1mdk.i586.rpm

However, if I choose KDE from a GDM login screen, the screen goes black
and sends me back to GDM. Calling a k app consistently produces this:
$ kwrite
ERROR: kwrite: Trying to launch kwrite.
kwrite: error in loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libkdeui.so.3:
undefined symbol: focusNextPrevChild__14QMultiLineEditb

This looks like C* trouble to me, although that's a just a guess. Any
ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,
Dave.
