The oclug meeting last night was my first. The Kylix demo was the reason
I attended as I use Delphi 5 where I work. I am not a programmer but I make
small quick and dirty database applications.
Delphi / Kylix is a great environment for making quick programs (console
or gui). Borland's presentation material that was shown last night was too
dry and put a lot of people to sleep. The live demo was too short and it did
not give a true taste of the RAD environment.
If we skipped the presentation then we would have had time create a
simple SQL database and a Kylix application to view/add records to the file.
The SQL database could have had fields to hold the names of the "tree
programmers" and their results.
I still enjoyed the meeting and found the perl "tree" program clever and
