Super! Yes it was detailed enough. Once I implemented your suggestions
and Bart's, I was prompted for passphrases on login, and I was able to
list my keys with ssh-add -l.

Now I need help with getting openssh 2.5.1 (on my host) to work with
(not open) ssh 2.4.0 (on the mail server). I don't seem to be able to add
a key generated with ssh-keygen to (open)ssh-agent which is now running on
my host. It says I'm giving an incorrect passphrase. I also tried
putting the public key I generated with (open)ssh-keygen on my host on the
mail server, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Do you have another useful link for me? :)
