[oclug] pppd

Is there anything special required to use pppd with Linux?  Today I hastily 
set up pppd to allow a Palm Pilot to connect via a serial cable.  Tried 
sending a broadcast message but it didn't get beyond the computer that was 
hooked to the Palm.

192.168.0.1 linux box
192.168.0.2 IP given to Palm by 192.168.0.1

192.168.0.99 another linux box

the Palm can see and talk with computer it is hooked to but not another 
computer on the same subnet. 

Ideas?
